Last Night’s Weird House And Cat Dream

(Though some may be tempted to give me one, I’m not looking for an interpretation of this dream because 1) I’m getting over a cold and this dream was largely a result of me being sick and 2) I already know what this dream is about.)

Last night, I dreamt that I was in a gigantic mansion that was still decorated for Christmas.  I knew that I only had one night in which to take down all of the Christmas decorations but I also knew that, after I finally managed to get them all down, I would also have to figure out a place to store them all.  The mansion had a basement but, because there weren’t any lights in there, I didn’t particularly feel like going down there.  Fortunately, there was also a fairly large tool shed in the mansion’s backyard so I figured that I’d just put the decorations out there.

So, I started taking down all of the Christmas decorations and this quickly turned out to be a much bigger task than I had anticipated because it turned out that the mansion had hundreds of rooms and every room had been fully decorated.  Whenever I walk up one flight of stairs, convinced that I had finally reached the top floor, I would discover that there was actually another floor above me and that floor, of course, contained a hundred new rooms that had to be cleaned.  It was a never-ending house.

Still, I diligently went from room to room, pulling down wreathes and mistletoe and Christmas tree ornaments and pictures of Santa Claus.  It was long and exhausting work and there were several times that I got frustrated and was tempted to just leave but then I would tell myself, “No, I made a commitment to clean this place up.”

Anyway, I had just finished up taking down all the decorations in a gigantic sitting room when I suddenly heard what sounded like hundreds of cats meowing outside.  I ran over to a window and looked out the back yard and I saw that there were indeed a hundred cats in the back yard.  They had shown up out of nowhere and now, they didn’t appear as if they were planning on leaving any time soon.

Looking at them, I realized that they all looked similar, except some of them were a little bit fiercer or a little bit more passive than the others.  That’s when I realized that, somewhere, a portal had opened and all these cats had crossed from their own alternate time lines.

“What am I going to do about that?” I said, with a sigh.

And that’s when I woke up!

My First Dream of 2020

I was out for most of last night celebrating the new year but, when I did finally get home, I managed to get a few hours of sleep and I actually did have a dream.  It was my first dream of 2020!

It’s just a pity that I can’t remember much about it.

It was yet another one of my dreams where I was back in high school.  From what little I can remember, I know that I was angry in the dream because I was trying to get to the graduation ceremony but, whenever I started to leave the house, I would realize that I had forgotten something and I would have to go back inside and look for it.

The other thing I remember about the dream is that I did eventually make it to the graduation ceremony but, for some reason, it was taking place on the beach and the graduation stage was lit by torches.  It was very odd and, needless to say, nothing like my actual graduation.

That’s it.  It’s a bit of a disappointing dream to start the year off with but we’ve got 12 months to improve on it.
