Last Night’s Weird Kidnapping Dream

In third weird dream that I had last night, I dreamt that I was in my kitchen when I realized that there was a woman in the backyard.  I had never seen here before so I stepped outside and I asked her what was going on.

“Have you seen my son?” she asked me.

“I don’t know you son,” I replied.

“Someone’s kidnapped my child.  Have you seen him?”

“What does he looks like?”

She said that he was five and had brown hair.  She said that she hadn’t seen him in years.

And that’s when I woke up.

Last Night’s Weird Car Theft Dream

In the second weird dream that I had last night, I dreamed that I was walking around my neighborhood when I suddenly realized that I was in a dream and that I needed to wake up.  So, I decided that I should commit a crime because I knew that, as soon as the police arrested me, I would wake up.

So, I walked up to a car that was parked in front of a house and I looked inside.  I saw that the door was unlocked and that keys were still in the ignition.  I got in the car, started the engine, and drove off.

As I drove around for a little bit but I didn’t see any police.  So, I decided to go to Northpark Mall and do some shopping.

At the mall, I was not only having a great time shopping but I was also happy to see that whole place was decorated for Christmas!  As I walked around the mall, I suddenly noticed that there was a huge amount of people in what appeared to be an antique store.

I stepped into the store and I saw that there was a long line of people waiting to go through a door that led into the back of the store.  I also saw that my friend Amy was standing at the back of the line so I walked over to her and asked her what was going on.

She told me that the antique store was actually an embassy and everyone was waiting to have their papers checked.  She told me that everyone in the back of the store was a political prisoner and that she was there to protest the embassy’s human right violations and that the store was a dangerous place to be.

“Are you sure you want to be here?” she asked me.

I shrugged and said, “It’s just a dream.”

So, I joined Amy in line.  One-by-one, people were allowed to enter the back of the store.  It took forever but finally, Amy and I reached the door.  Looking through the doorway, I saw a room that had one table, three chairs, and a lot of uniformed men.

“Are you ready?” Amy asked me.

I looked at the men in the room and then said, “No, I change my mind.”

“What about the cause?” she asked me.

“What cause?” I replied, before walking out of the antique store.

I had spent so much time in the antique store that Northpark Mall was now closing.  As I left the mall, I found myself wondering why I hadn’t been arrested.  What if this wasn’t a dream?  What if I had really stolen a car and then abandoned my friend in a foreign embassy?

Standing outside the mall, I started to get worried but then I saw a police car pulling up.

“Thank God,” I said.

And then I woke up.

Last Night’s Weird TCM Dream

I had three strange dreams last night.

In the first one, I was sitting on the floor in my living room, in front of the TV, and watching TCM.  I watched as Ben Mankiewicz explained that the upcoming movie was a “TCM Premiere.”  The name of the movie was Doctor’s Debate.  Mankiewicz said that it was a British film from 1961, about an older, wiser doctor who has to deal with a younger, idealistic doctor.  Mankiewicz also explained that the film’s soundtrack featured the first use of the song Nights in White Satin.

The movie started.  It was a black-and-white film, one that opened with the older doctor, who bore a resemblance to Peter Cushing in the Hammer Frankenstein films, and the younger doctor, who looked like a young Michael Caine, appearing on a BBC news program, where they debated whether or not vaccinations were safe.  The younger doctor insisted that they were and said that the government should force everyone to get vaccinated.  The older doctor said that the issue was more complicated than that and kept referring to the younger doctor as “my idealistic colleague.”  The debate got quite heated, with the older doctor finally pointing out that he had been practicing medicine for 30 years while the younger doctor was fresh out of medical school.

Suddenly, the scene changed and the older doctor was driving his car around an underground parking garage.  Meanwhile, the younger doctor was driving his car down a London street, stopping whenever he saw anyone who looked sick and writing them a prescription.  Whenever anyone said that they didn’t have money for the medicine, the younger doctor would say, “Just tell them I sent you.”

The film kept cutting back and forth, between the old doctor driving around that parking garage and the young doctor driving around London.  And suddenly, while all this was going on, Nights in White Satin started to play on the soundtrack.

And that’s when I woke up!

Odd dream.  I assume Peter Cushing showed up because I’ve been watching a lot of old Hammer horror films on TCM this month.  But I have no idea why Michael Caine was there.  As for Nights in White Satin …. well, who knows!?

Last Night’s Reality TV Dream

Last night, I dreamed that I was sitting in the lobby of an old dormitory with a large group of people.  We were all annoyed because we had been told that we weren’t allowed to speak to each other.  Some people would break the rules by whispering to each other but I kept quiet because I didn’t want to get in trouble.

Suddenly, this woman carrying a clipboard stepped into the lobby and told us to follow her.  She led us to a huge cafeteria, where we all sat down at a long table.  I noticed that there were TV cameras all over the place and I suddenly remembered that we were all contestants on Survivor.  However, instead of filming the season on a beach, we were filming it in a deserted dormitory.

The woman with the clipboard announced that this was tribal council and that we needed to decide who we wanted to vote out of the dorm.

We all sat there silently.

“You can speak now,” she said.

And that’s when I woke up.
