Last Night’s Snippet Of A Dream

Just an odd little dream from last night.  Maybe there was more to it than I’m remembering but I doubt it.

I dreamt that I was in my house, in the upstairs hallway.  I heard the doorbell ring.  Sitting at the top of the stairs, I glanced out one of the dining room windows and I saw that our neighbor was standing outside.  With him was a man and a woman, both of whom had dark hair.  The man was wearing a tuxedo.  The woman was wearing a white wedding dress, holding a bouquet, and was pregnant.  My neighbor was talking to both of them.  Even though I couldn’t hear what he was saying, I could see that the man and the woman were both laughing at whatever it was.

I was tempted to go downstairs and see what was going on but instead, I just sat at the top of the stairs and watched.

And that’s all I remember about this odd little snippet of sleeping drama.

Last Night’s Frustrating Quest Dream

Finally, I have a new dream to share!

It’s not that I haven’t been dreaming in the month between this post and my last.  In fact, I know I’ve been dreaming quite a bit because I wake up every morning with fragmentary storylines in my head.  But, for whatever reason, I haven’t been remembering the dreams as well as I usually do.  Often, I discover that I’ve forgotten my dream by the middle of the day.

So, I better go ahead and get this one down before I forget it!

In this dream, I was walking through Northpark Mall when I suddenly saw a store that I had never seen before.  The store had a lot of glowing neon on the walls but, as I stood there looking at it, I couldn’t figure out what exactly it was that they sold.

I stepped into the store and saw two women talking while a man stood behind a counter and listened.  I could tell that one of the women was the owner and the other woman and the man were employees.  The owner was complaining that her employees were incompetent and that she wished she had someone else working at the store.

“I’ll do it!” I said.

All three of them stared at me.  The owner asked me if I really wanted the job.

I shrugged and said, “What is it?”

The owner didn’t answer my question.  Instead, she said, “If you want the job, I need you to go to the store across the street from the mall and pick something up for us.  You’ve got thirty minutes.”

Eager to get the mystery job, I ran out of the store and out of the mall.  It was only when I was standing in the mall parking lot that I realized that 1) I had no idea what store I was supposed to go to, 2) I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to get, 3) I already had a job, 4) it took me 15 minutes to juts get out of the mall so there was no way that I would be able to make the 30 minute deadline, and 5) I had no idea where my car was.

And that’s when I woke up!
