Last Night’s Scary Clown Dream

Last night, I dreamt that I was sitting in our den, watching TV late at night.  There was a huge storm raging outside — lightning, thunder, torrential rainfall, the works.  There was a flash of lightning, followed by explosive thunder.  The house was plunged into darkness.

As the rumbling of the thunder faded away, it was replaced by a light tapping.

I looked over my shoulder, at the sliding glass door that led out to the back patio.  It was too dark for me to see anything on the patio but still, the tapping continued.

tap…. tap …. tap …. tap ….

Suddenly, there was another flash of lightning, one that illuminated the night just long enough to reveal a clown standing on the other side of the door, tapping on the glass.

At the same time that I saw the clown, I also realized that the door wasn’t locked.  I jumped up from the couch and ran over to the door but, just as I reached it, the door slid open and a white gloved hand grabbed my wrist!

And that, thankfully, is when I finally woke up.  I realize this is a pretty common nightmare and I’ve actually had several variations of this dream, though this is the first time that the intruder on the porch turned out to be a clown!  What’s strange about this dream is that, for the most part, clowns don’t even disturb me.  I’m usually the one who makes fun of my friends for being scared of them.

Before anyone asks, I did not watch It before going to bed last night.  I do have to admit, though, that the clown did bear a certain resemblance to Pennywise.

Who knows?  Maybe I was just having a bad Sims flashback….

Last Night’s Social Media Dream

Last night, I dreamt that I logged onto my twitter account and discovered that all of my followers had apparently unfollowed.  Thinking that this had to be some sort of mistake, I wrote an email to twitter support.  However, just as I was about hit send, there was a huge clasp of thunder and all the power went out in my house.  I then went to my living room window, a stared out at the front yard.  It was raining, the wind was howling, and the streets were flooded.  With each flash of lightning, I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be someone standing in the middle of the street.

And that’s when I woke up.

Last Night’s Simple But Super Intense Nightmare

Last night’s dream was a terrible one.

In the dream, I was staying, by myself, at a motel.  I had just stepped out of the shower and I was still in the bathroom when suddenly, I heard footsteps outside.  I opened the bathroom door just enough to peek into the room and I saw a bearded, balding man, dressed in all black, searching my room.  Suddenly, he stopped and looked over at the bathroom door.

That woke me right up.  It was a very short and very simple dream but it felt so real that, after I woke up, I had to get out of bed and walk around for a few minutes, just to make sure that it had all been a dream.  Fortunately, it had been.

Before anyone asks, the man in my dream was not anyone that I know in real life.  He was just a generic evil stranger.  Also, I’m not looking for any interpretations of this dream.  I’m just sharing it because it was so intense.

Last Night’s Weird Dorm Nightmare

Last night’s dream started out nicely but then it got weird and disturbing towards the end.

I dreamt that I was back in college and I had just moved into my new dorm.  I had this gigantic, three-room suite all to myself and I was so excited.  I invited all of my friends over and we had a big party, decorating the place.  I was having a great time until I noticed that there was a guy at the party that I had never seen before.

He was tall, thin, and pale with messy blonde hair.  When I first saw him, he was standing in front of a wall mirror, staring at his reflection.  I noticed that he had what appeared to be a huge cyst on his right jaw and he kept pushing down on it with his finger.  Suddenly, he started to squeeze the cyst.

“Stop doing that!” I snapped at him as the cyst burst open in a mix of blood and puss.

Holding his hand over his face, he turned away from the mirror and looked at me.  He lowered his hand, revealing that he now had a bloody hole on his face, through which I could see his jawbone.

And that’s when I woke up!

Don’t you hate it when a perfectly good dream is interrupted by a nightmare?

Last Night’s Ant Dream

Last night, I dreamed that my laptop stopped working.  So, I picked it up and looked it over and that’s when I discovered that there were literally millions of ants living inside of it.  Shocked, I dropped the laptop the floor and watched as an army of ants spread out from underneath it.

Last Night’s Wasp Dream

Last night, I dreamed that I was visiting a friend of mine.  He lived in two-story, glass house and, when I went up to the second floor, I immediately saw that there were wasps everywhere.  Only, these weren’t normal wasps.  These wasps were slightly bigger than usual and they were a washed-out yellow color, like yellow jackets but not quite as brightly decorated.  My friend explained that there were always a lot of wasps this time of year but that they would all die once the weather got colder.

Since I’m scared to death of wasps (in both the dream and the waking world), I went back downstairs.  Fortunately, it didn’t appear that there were any wasps down there, so I went into the living room, curled up on the couch, and watched television.

Suddenly, I realized that there was a wasp on the ceiling, directly above my head.  My friend came in the room and started to apologize for all the wasps but I was too petrified with fear to tell him about the one directly above me.

While my friend started to talk about something he had seen on TV, the wasp started to slowly move across the ceiling.  Then, it suddenly flew down to the couch and landed right beside my foot.

Finally, my friend saw the wasp and slammed his open palm down on top of it!

And that’s when I woke up.

Seriously, wasps freak me out so much.

Last Night’s Nightmare

Last night, I dreamed that I was visiting the house where my family lived when I was 12 years old.  The house was now owned by one of my former dance teachers and her husband.  They were both really happy and excited when I showed up at the front door.  My former teacher gave me a tour of the house and I discovered that it still looked exactly the same as when I had lived there.  Even the furniture was the same.  Even in the dream, I found that odd.

My teacher took me to my old room and told me to get some rest and that dinner would be ready soon.  She left, closing the door behind her.  I looked around my room and I was again surprised to discover that it looked exactly the same as when I had lived there.  It was as if I had never moved out but, obviously, I had because otherwise, why would my teacher and her husband be living there?

There was a knock on the door.  I opened the door.  My teacher’s husband brusquely said it was time for dinner and then walked away without saying anoter word.  I started to wonder if maybe I was imposing.  Maybe they actually weren’t happy that I dropped by.

I went downstairs to the kitchen, which again was unchanged since my family last lived there.  I ate dinner with my teacher and her husband.  Neither one of them said much so I started talking about movies.  Mostly, I wanted to get some sort of response out of them, something that would let me know that they weren’t angry that I was visiting.

After dinner, the husband again left the room without saying anything.  My teacher started washing the dishes.  I offered to help but she told me to just go upstairs and get some sleep.

I left the kitchen but, instead of going upstairs, I went into the den (which, like every other room in the house, had not changed at all).  The teacher’s husband was sitting in a chair, looking annoyed.  I walked up to him and I again tried to talk to him.

Suddenly, he reached up and grabbed me by the throat and started to choke me.  In my dream, I could actually feel my windpipe getting crushed but I still managed to shout for help.

(I know, I know.  I probably shouldn’t have been able to shout if I was being choked but it was dream, remember?)

As soon as the teacher came running into the room, her husband released me and sunk back into the chair.  My teacher asked me what has happened.

“He tried to strangle me!” I said.

My teacher shrugged and coldly replied, “He’s had a long day.”

And then I woke up.

Agck!
